Undergrad Co-op – Knowledge Advancements and Insights (KAI) - Remote (Fall 2026)

What You Will Do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. The Knowledge Advancement and Insights (KAI) team optimizes portfolio execution by developing digital tools that accelerate access to insights through enhanced connectivity and integration of people, processes, and systems. Through our digital tools Planisware, Weave and Sage, we transform ways of working in Operations.

About This Role:

As a KAI co-op, you will support the evolution of digital transformation and organizational change initiatives that enable how teams work across Amgen Operations. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and measurement of digital adoption strategies that help accelerate the delivery of innovative medicines from early development through commercialization.

One example of the digital tools you will work on is Technology Transfers, a centralized platform used to manage the transfer of manufacturing processes across Amgen's global network. The platform provides end-to-end visibility into project status, milestones, risks, key deliverables, and performance metrics, helping teams execute complex transfers efficiently and consistently.

Through this work, you will develop a broad understanding of Amgen’s research and development portfolio, pipeline governance processes, portfolio management practices, and the role of digital tools in supporting biotechnology and pharmaceutical operations.

This position is ideal for students interested in chemical engineering, biotechnology, life sciences, data science, business, or related disciplines who are eager to understand how large-scale scientific organizations drive innovation, improve processes, and support the development and delivery of medicines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support digital product adoption – Partner with product owners and business stakeholders to gather user feedback, identify adoption opportunities, and enhance the user experience for KAI digital solutions including Planisware, Weave, and Sage.
  • Support process improvement efforts – Apply an engineering mindset to understand workflow inefficiencies, user pain points, and opportunities to improve how scientific and operational teams use digital systems.
  • Analyze adoption and engagement data – Collect, interpret, and visualize quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate adoption trends, user behaviors, and the effectiveness of change interventions.
  • Develop change management assets – Create communications, learning materials, stakeholder engagement plans, and adoption resources that help employees successfully navigate new tools, processes, and ways of working.
  • Leverage AI and digital technologies – Explore and apply AI-enabled tools to streamline communications, generate insights, improve user support, and accelerate change management activities.
  • Develop executive-ready insights and recommendations – Synthesize findings into presentations, dashboards, and strategic recommendations for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across functions – Partner with colleagues in scientific, business, technology, and operational teams to understand diverse perspectives and help drive successful implementation of digital capabilities.
