Global Meetings & Events Manager, HCP Meetings
What you will do

In this vital role you will play a critical leadership role within Amgen’s Global Meetings Program by driving operational efficiency, ensuring compliance, and managing supplier relationships across Healthcare Community (HCC) and Healthcare Professional (HCP) meetings.
This role provides strategic oversight of in-person, virtual, and hybrid HCC meetings with a primary focus on Advisory Boards. The Manager partners closely with internal collaborators and external meeting management agencies to ensure compliant, high-quality meeting delivery aligned with business objectives and regulatory standards. This is an oversight-focused role that requires strong experience guiding agencies, advising customers, and navigating complex compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Implement and uphold strategic plans for Amgen’s Global Meetings Program.
- Provide strategic oversight for Advisory Board meetings, ensuring alignment with business priorities, compliance requirements, and policy standards.
- Advise customers on meeting formats, HCP engagement parameters, and best practices.
- Lead through influence, building strong cross-functional partnerships.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Guide the application of Global Meetings Policy and HCC/HCP-specific compliance guidelines.
- Ensure supplier adherence to all sourcing, contracting, documentation, and operational compliance requirements.
- Ensure audit-ready documentation and support transparency reporting.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal and Corporate Audit to proactively identify and mitigate risk.
Program and Supplier Management
- Oversee day-to-day performance of meeting management agencies responsible for implementing Advisory Board meetings and other HCC meetings.
- Serve as the SME and primary point of contact for internal teams planning Advisory Boards.
- Lead regular status meetings with customers and agency partners from intake through program closeout.
- Maintain strong partnerships with agency teams, hotels, and industry suppliers.
- Manage supplier performance, including SLAs, KPIs, and quarterly business reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve raised issues from suppliers or internal teams.
Technology and Innovation
- Promote adoption of meeting technologies and tools that enhance efficiency and transparency.
- Ensure accurate data capture within Cvent and related systems to support reporting and compliance.
- Oversee data quality control for meeting documentation and inputs.
- Stay current on industry trends and recommend innovations to improve program operations.
Budget and Financial Management
- Oversee meeting budgets, timelines, forecasts, and supporting documentation.
- Validate cost estimates, SOW alignment, and reconciliation accuracy completed by agency partners.
- Ensure financial stewardship and adherence to procurement and compliance standards.
Training and Development
- Deliver training for internal customers and agency partners on meeting processes and compliance requirements.
- Maintain SOPs, process documentation, and supplier guidance.
- Support adoption of new tools, systems, and workflows.
Communication and Reporting
- Maintain proactive communication with customers to ensure clarity around timelines, requirements, and responsibilities.
- Provide reporting and insights to leadership to support operational visibility and decision-making.
- Support change management efforts and promote adoption of Global Meetings Program processes.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of experience of managing HCP meetings, with strong expertise in Advisory Boards.
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of managing HCP meetings, with strong expertise in Advisory Boards.
Or
Associate’s degree and 8 years of managing HCP meetings, with strong expertise in Advisory Boards.
Or
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of managing HCP meetings, with strong expertise in Advisory Boards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience managing HCP meetings, with strong expertise in Advisory Boards.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical meetings and HCC Compliance guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee agency partners and drive strong performance outcomes.
- Exceptional communication, customer management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Cvent.
- HMCC preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple programs in a fast-paced environment with a calm, solutions-oriented approach.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
