What you will do

In this vital role you will have a great impact on the continued and future success of our U.S. bone franchise through the health system customer channel and across the healthcare ecosystem. You will serve as the cross functional lead in developing deep customer insights of this evolving customer segment of growing importance, tailoring marketing tactics and solutions to help improve osteoporosis population health management across the care continuum. The Health Systems Associate Director will lead the strategy and cross-functional efforts to support implementation of scalable post-fracture care pathways that systematically identify very high fracture risk patients and start them on guideline-recommended osteoporosis treatments.
Reporting to the Health Systems and Key Accounts Marketing Director, the Associate Director will drive development of the cross-functional health system strategy and lead a team of experienced marketers to develop innovative customer engagement opportunities and multi-channel marketing tactics to effect customer organizational behavior change. The individual in this role will also serve as a key to work with health system executives and PFC champions and will serve as a subject matter expert representing Amgen’s commitment to improving osteoporosis care across the continuum.
Success in this role requires a strategic and hands-on leader with deep knowledge of the evolving U.S. healthcare landscape and the needs of health systems and IDNs. The individual will bring proven experience engaging organized provider organizations through population health, quality improvement, and care transition initiatives. This leader excels at using multiple channels—both personal and digital—to reach key partners and decision-makers. They work closely with cross-functional field teams, including commercial and medical, to align strategies and deliver relevant outcomes for customers and patients. They will also build trusted relationships with health system leaders to identify solutions that advance mutual goals. They use data, analytics, and collaboration to translate strategy into measurable results.
- Shape the bone health systems strategy to support bone franchise strategic imperatives in close collaboration with brand lead(s), field lead(s), and key cross-functional partners
- Oversee prioritization and development of key messages, tools, and resources required to engage health system partners and support implementation of PFC care pathways and programs
- Lead development of innovative health system partner engagement strategies, including local and national roundtables/forums, to drive standard process sharing and prioritization of post-fracture osteoporosis care
- Develop strong relationships with and routinely engage health system leaders and KOLs to synthesize health system insights and feedback on customer priorities, evolving health trends (i.e. ACO deployment, etc.) gaps in care, standard processes, and areas of opportunity to improve osteoporosis care across the continuum
- Pilot targeted insightful post-fracture care solutions with willing health systems to identify successful tools that can improve PFC at scale
- Partner with KAM and MSL leadership to ensure focused and optimized implementation of health system strategies and tactics while identifying and eliminating executional barriers
- Liaison with training to ensure superior operational execution, and functional competencies and capabilities
- Identify market research needs to support ongoing innovation and engagement with health system customers and collaborate with PMR team to implement.
- Partner cross functionally with business partners, such as but not limited to: IDN/KAM marketing team, medical, HEOR, CfOR, Health IT Liaisons, HCP marketing team, Sales and KAM leadership, and Bone Brand Lead
- Domestic travel up to 20% may be required

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 3 years of marketing, clinical, and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Healthcare Delivery organization or Marketing/Sales commercial organization
OR
Master’s degree and 7 years of marketing, clinical, and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Healthcare Delivery organization or Marketing/Sales commercial organization
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of marketing, clinical, and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Healthcare Delivery organization or Marketing/Sales commercial organization
OR
Associate’s degree and 12 years of marketing, clinical, and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Healthcare Delivery organization or Marketing/Sales commercial organization
OR
High school diploma / GED and 14 years of marketing, clinical, and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Healthcare Delivery organization or Marketing/Sales commercial organization
In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 3 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree such as MBA, MPH, MHA, PhD, or PharmD
- 8+ years of experience in a series of commercial roles of increasing scope, scale, and complexity within the bio-pharmaceutical industry
- 5+ years established experience engaging U.S. Health System/IDN system-level partners and KOLs, and demonstrated understanding of market dynamics, core customer business drivers, and health system unmet needs
- Key Account Management, Medical Science Liaison, or hospital/institutional sales experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge of the evolving U.S. healthcare landscape with a focus on health system vertical/horizontal integration, care pathway implementation, and ability to influence care across the healthcare ecosystem
- Ability and desire to serve as an Amgen thought leader internally and externally to champion our commitment to developing health system solutions and innovations across the ecosystem
- Experience developing and implementing innovative commercial strategies within highly competitive markets where the application of innovative solutions or population health are key factors of success
- Strong data/analytics skills and the ability to translate real-world data into actionable insights that resonate with Health System executive leaders and key partners
- Consistent track record in leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment; leading projects involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $183,671.00 to $229,424.00. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
