Job purpose
- Lead and shape medical strategy and plan for product and therapeutic area.
- Provide strategic medical input into brand strategy, lifecycle management, and portfolio discussions.
- Represent the Japan medical perspective in global and regional discussions.
- Lead evidence generation, publication, and key scientific activities.
- Provide medical leadership across cross-functional teams and support capability development within Medical Affairs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with KOLs, scientific experts, and other relevant external stakeholders.
- Lead the development and execution of medical strategy and medical activities.
- Provide strategic medical input into launch and lifecycle management plans.
- Identify evidence gaps and lead evidence generation and publication activities.
- Lead advisory boards, scientific meetings, and other key medical programs.
- Provide medical expertise for marketed products, pipeline assets, and value/access-related activities.
- Synthesize scientific evidence and external insights to inform medical and cross-functional decision-making.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and influence relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide medical colleagues as appropriate.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Amgen policies, compliance, regulations, and ethical standards.
Basic Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in life sciences or relevant area, or equivalent education and professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or a related pharmaceutical function.
- Strong scientific and medical expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to lead medical strategy and cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Japanese and English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Medical Affairs, clinical research, RWD/RWE, and evidence generation.
- Expertise in rare disease or relevant therapeutic areas.
- Experience in product lifecycle management and collaboration with global/regional teams.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
