The Vice President of Change Execution Excellence will establish and lead a new capability designed to accelerate Amgen’s most critical change initiatives. This leader will focus on embedding execution discipline specifically for transformational change programs, ensuring these initiatives deliver measurable business impact. The role will drive integration across initiatives and serve as the steward of outcome tracking across the change portfolio.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as Amgen’s Change Execution Excellence Capability Lead, focused on project management integration and execution discipline for change initiatives
Build and scale a fit-for-purpose project management capability that supports RDO-led initiatives and can be leveraged more broadly for enterprise change initiatives
Lead a team of approximately 10 project managers across levels of experience, responsible for supporting and driving delivery of critical change programs
Develop and maintain a project management integration roadmap for change initiatives, ensuring alignment across technology, workforce, operating model, and change management
Proactively manage interdependencies across RDO and enterprise change initiatives to maximize efficiency, minimize duplication, and enhance outcomes
Drive adoption of consistent governance and execution approaches to improve delivery of change initiatives
Act as portfolio steward for realization/outcome measures: partner with transformation leads to integrating value capture measures (defined within Capabilities); monitor and track actuals across the change portfolio; provide inputs into Sensing, Amgen’s internal metrics, and intelligence platform
Success Measures:
Reduced time-to-value and improved execution discipline for change initiatives
Demonstrated adoption and credibility of the Change Execution Excellence capability as a trusted resource for change programs
Increased integration of technology, workforce, operating model, and change management within change execution
Measurable improvement in realization and outcome tracking across the change portfolio
Enhanced visibility of change portfolio performance through reliable inputs into Sensing.
Successful execution of prioritized process mapping initiatives by 2026
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 8 years of Life Sciences, Business, or related experience OR
Master’s degree and 10 years of Life Sciences, Business, or related experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of Life Sciences, Business, or related experience AND
8 years of direct managerial experience. Previous experience managing other managers
Preferred Qualifications:
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in program management, enterprise transformation, or operational excellence within large, complex organizations
Demonstrated success in building and scaling capabilities to support complex change initiatives.
Understanding of interdependence across technology, workforce, operating model, and change management
Experience with value capture, outcome tracking, and portfolio-level stewardship of change measures
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence, align, and mobilize across all levels of the organization
Executive presence with proven ability to engage senior leaders and drive enterprise-wide alignment
Advanced degree in business, organizational management, or a related field

The annual base salary range for VP level opportunities in the US is $315,000 to $525,000.
