Amgen is seeking talented Human Resources Professionals with a broad variety of HR experience in client-facing and/or Center of Excellence (COE) roles with large, multi-national companies. This position provides an excellent entry point to quickly learn Amgen, both the business and the HR function, while providing high visibility and opportunity to interact with an extensive range of HR and business leaders.

The HR Senior Associate and Organizational Effectiveness Lead – R&D will work directly with the Vice President of HR supporting the same broad, Amgen team (i.e., EVP of R&D Jay Bradner, multiple SVPs and the entire 5,000+ person global organization). This role will work closely with the other R&D HR Business Partners to drive business and HR process maximization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the R&D leaders and HR Business Partners on core processes including Performance Measurement, Talent Management, and Workforce Strategy
- Partner with Global HRBPs supporting acquisitions, restructurings, operational excellence activities
- Translate R&D global HR needs into input for HR COE’s (Compensation & Benefits, Talent, Development, Diversity, etc.)
- Partner with COE’s in deploying new HR programs globally
- Partner with R&D clients and HR to interpret data, apply judgment and suggest necessary course of action for resolution
- Lead intra- and cross-functional HR initiatives focused on staff development and retention

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Human Resources experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 6 years of Human Resources experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Human Resources experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or MBA
- Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and organizational change
- Ability to interact, influence and build relationships with all levels of staff, management, and executives
- Ability to analyze situations and exercise sound judgment in determining appropriate courses of action
- Ability to understand the clients’ needs and develop both strategic and tactical solutions to tangible business challenges
- Strong quantitative, analytical (technical and business) and problem-solving skills--and AI tools, in appropriate applications
- Persistent, tactful, and persuasive team and project leadership, including conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and handle diverse assignments simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of breadth of HR roles, both COE and HRBP
- Strong verbal and written communication combined with organizational skills and cross-cultural sensitivity
- Experience working with cross functional global teams in a matrixed organization

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
