R&D Global Development Biosimilars – Grad Intern
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world During the Summer Intern program, an intern will gain an understanding of the various components of clinical trial research, the universal pathway for any type of clinical drug development. As part of our Global Development Biosimilars team, you will explore and have hands-on experience in the rapidly growing area of biosimilar medicine which spans several disease focus areas, including Inflammation, Oncology, and Neurology among others. This will be achieved via rotational experiences in protocol development, safety oversight, and strategic planning of biosimilar clinical trials.
A successful candidate must be eager to deepen their understanding of clinical drug development—exploring and having hands-on experience in the rapidly growing and strategically vital area of Biosimilar Medicine. This person will rotate with our career professionals in medical science / physician scientists, study and data management, biostatistics, and scientific communications
- Work alongside a medical scientist on a specific ongoing clinical trial on strategic medical study conduct reviews
- Work alongside a study or data management specialist on the criticality of accurate data reviews and study milestone checkpoints
- Work alongside a biostatistician on the basic statistical considerations that are required for a successful clinical trial
- Work alongside a medical communications specialist to understand their important contributions to both internal and external communication of key scientific and clinical data from Amgen clinical trials
What we expect of you
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The clinically curious individual we seek is a self-starter with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
- Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
- Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a full-time science graduate program (eg. working towards a Master’s or PhD degree) or a full-time medical graduate student (eg. working towards a MD, DO, or PharmD degree).
- Prior undergraduate research exposure and/or experience

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $30-$40 per hour
