Global Forecasting Manager, Biosimilars
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. The Forecasting team at Amgen serves as a key partner to Commercial leadership, providing strategic guidance and data-backed insights. As a Manager of Forecasting within the Biosimilars Business Unit (BBU), you will play a critical role in developing and managing forecasts for Amgen’s biosimilars pipeline portfolio.
This role requires a strong understanding of biosimilars market dynamics—including loss of exclusivity (LOE), competitive entry timing, pricing and contracting pressures, payer behavior, and channel dynamics across global markets. You will work cross-functionally to ensure forecasts reflect realistic market scenarios and inform high-impact strategic decisions.
The individual in this role will need to effectively influence and challenge a diverse group of stakeholders across Commercial, Finance, Market Access, Manufacturing, Pricing/Contracting, and Global Marketing.
This role reports to the Global Director of Forecasting for Rare Disease and Biosimilars and operates within the broader Business Analytics and Insights (BAI) organization.
This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute significantly to the biosimilars pipeline portfolio and play a crucial part in shaping global forecasting strategies.
Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA office. You will work on-site a minimum of 2 days a week.
Advanced Forecasting Techniques:
- Develop robust, assumption-driven forecast models for biosimilars pipeline portfolio
- Apply advanced analytical techniques (e.g., Monte Carlo analysis, statistical trending) to quantify uncertainty and risk
- Leverage diverse pharmaceutical data sources to enhance forecasting approaches
Market Analysis and Competitor Intelligence:
- Analyze global biosimilars landscape, including competitor pipelines, launch timing, and market share evolution to inform forecasts and strategic decisions
- Integrate analogs and historical performance to inform assumptions
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a key forecasting partner to cross-functional teams, partnering with Marketing, Value & Access, Finance, Manufacturing, etc.
- Collaborate with broader Business Analytics and Insights organization to incorporate comprehensive insights and knowledge into forecasting
- Lead cross-functional alignment on key forecast assumptions and scenarios
- Challenge inputs constructively to ensure forecasts reflect realistic and defensible expectations
Strategic Insights and Recommendations:
- Translate forecast outputs into actionable business insights
- Identify risks and opportunities across markets
- Support key decisions related to pipeline prioritization, launch readiness and lifecycle management
Communication and Presentation:
- Develop clear, transparent presentations that articulate forecast assumptions, key drivers, and risks
- Communicate complex modeling outputs in a way that informs senior leadership decision-making
Process Optimization:
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting methodologies, tools and processes
- Standardize approaches where appropriate while maintaining flexibility for biosimilar-specific nuances

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of Pharma/Biotech forecasting, demand planning, and/or supply chain management
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Pharma/Biotech forecasting, demand planning, and/or supply chain management
OR
Associate’s degree and 8 years of Pharma/Biotech forecasting, demand planning, and/or supply chain management
OR
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Pharma/Biotech forecasting, demand planning, and/or supply chain management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to quickly establish credibility with and influence ED/VP level staff
- Knowledge and experience working with industry internal and secondary data sources; experience doing analog and uptake curve analysis
- Proficiency in advanced forecasting techniques, statistical modeling, and data analysis.
- Highly skilled in working collaboratively in a team-based environment and gaining alignment across an organization
- High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to interpret and analyze data trends, identify patterns, and make data-driven decisions
- Experience in contributing to the development of long-term business plans based on forecasting insight

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
