What you will do

In this leadership role, the Executive Director, Brand Lead will be accountable for driving strategy, performance, and innovation across Nplate®, Vectibix®, and Lumakras®. Within the Lifecycle Value Lab construct, these brands have additional lifecycle management opportunities to be advanced through new indications, evidence generation, sales force engagement, and omnichannel experimentation, which will be key levers and deliverables of success in this leadership role. As a senior leader in the Lifecycle Value Lab, you will drive business performance while advancing LVL’s mission to generate scalable commercial insights. You will lead a highly matrixed, cross-functional team to identify growth opportunities, run disciplined experiments, and turn findings into sustained performance across traditional and emerging channels. Success in this role requires a strategic and adaptive leader who can balance and advance business performance and transformation, leveraging real-world experimentation to shape future commercial models across Amgen.The Executive Director will be a member of the Lifecycle Value Lab Leadership Team and will play a critical role in shaping the culture, operating model, and long-term evolution of this groundbreaking business unit.
Key Responsibilities include:
Portfolio Strategy & Business Performance
Lead the overall commercial strategy, performance, and experimentation opportunities for Nplate, Vectibix, and Lumakras
Advance integrated brand strategies that maximize patient impact throughout the lifecycle
Establish portfolio priorities, performance objectives, and success metrics aligned with enterprise goals
Continuously evaluate lifecycle and market dynamics, competitive trends, customer insights, and emerging opportunities to optimize performance
Own portfolio forecasting, business planning, resource allocation, and investment decisions
Test-and-Learn Leadership & Commercial Innovation
Champion LVL's purpose-built mission of leveraging agile operating models, modern technologies, and disciplined experimentation to accelerate product performance
Build and Shepard portfolio-wide experimentation agenda designed to generate actionable insights and scalable commercial capabilities
Foster a culture that embraces learning, encourages intelligent risk-taking, and values both successful outcomes and productive failures
Evaluate new technologies, embrace, and become fluent in AI-enabled capabilities
Ensure learnings are systematically captured, shared, and scaled across the broader USBO organization
Omnichannel & Field Force Excellence
Lead an integrated promotional strategy across sales, digital, media, and emerging channels into a cohesive customer experience.
Partner closely with Sales Leadership to ensure alignment between field execution and portfolio strategy.
Optimize channel mix and engagement strategies through data-driven decision making and ongoing experimentation
Cross-Functional Enterprise Leadership
Lead a highly integrated matrix team spanning Marketing, Sales, Medical, Market Access, Digital, Analytics, Patient Support, Corporate Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, and Operations
Build strong partnerships across therapeutic areas and business units to maximize organizational learning and impact
Support open debate and drive alignment with stakeholders around strategic priorities and resource decisions
Serve as a visible champion for the Lifecycle Value Lab Business Unit across Amgen
Organizational Leadership & Talent Development
Build, inspire, and develop a high-performing team committed to innovation, accountability, and executional excellence

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 6 years of marketing experience OR
Master’s degree and 10 years of marketing experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of marketing experience AND
6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leading teams, programs, or resource allocation
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to lead at scale, including managing leaders and complex, multi-brand portfolios, with an emphasis on field integration and pull through
Experience shaping strategy and influencing senior stakeholders and executives
Experience building and scaling modern marketing capabilities and innovation frameworks
Experience driving data-driven decision-making and experimentation at scale
Experience in lifecycle management and long-term asset optimization
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced, and highly matrixed environments
Executive communication, presence, and stakeholder management skills

Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.In addition to the base salary, Amgen offers a Total Rewards Plan, based on eligibility, comprising of health and welfare plans for staff and eligible dependents, financial plans with opportunities to save towards retirement or other goals, work/life balance, and career development opportunities that may include:
