China - Shanghai APLICAR AHORAThe Compliance Manager, WC&BE Investigations – Triage Lead (JAPAC) serves as the regional intake and triage lead for reports of alleged violations of Amgen’s compliance policies across the JAPAC region. This role is part of Worldwide Compliance & Business Ethics (WC&BE) Investigations, the team responsible for leading internal compliance investigations globally.
The position reports to the Director, Compliance Investigations and partners closely with regional Human Resources, Legal, Audit, Finance, Healthcare Compliance Leads, and other stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and risk-appropriate routing of matters for investigation.
The Role
The Triage Lead plays a critical role in Amgen’s risk-management and compliance framework. The role involves identifying potential compliance issues in reports from various sources, conducting initial fact-gathering, reviewing transactional and system data, performing triage analysis, and documenting outcomes in the WC&BE system of record.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capability, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate the regulatory complexity and cultural diversity across JAPAC markets.

Responsibilities
Triage & Case Intake
- Identify compliance issues from hotline reports, internal referrals, and other sources.
- Conduct fact-gathering, including stakeholder outreach, document review, and internal company system checks (e.g., C3, SAP, Concur, Salesforce).
- Analyze available information, assess urgency and risk level, and recommend case disposition.
- Present triage assessments to regional WC&BE Investigations team and legal, who make up the regional triage committee.
- Document triage decisions and rationale for decisions in our system of record with clarity and accuracy.
Regional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Assign tasks to cross-functional partners such as HR/Staff Relations, Legal, Healthcare Compliance Leads, and Audit as appropriate.
- Build strong relationships with regional partners to facilitate timely information flow and shared understanding of triage decisions.
Compliance Expertise
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of Amgen’s Healthcare Compliance Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and relevant JAPAC laws and regulations.
- Apply compliance knowledge to assess interactions with Healthcare Organizations and Healthcare Professionals.
Data Quality, Reporting & Process Improvement
- Perform data quality checks and trend analysis, escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Support the Investigations Director with regional triage metrics and executive-level reporting.
- Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and contribute to implementation proposals.
File & Knowledge Management
- Manage investigation-related files, ensure proper documentation retention, and extract necessary supporting data from internal systems.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of compliance experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in internal investigations, compliance monitoring, or audit, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industries.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess varied, incomplete, or high-volume information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present concise and defensible triage decisions. Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese (other Asian language also preferred e.g. Japanese, Korean).
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize multiple matters with minimal supervision.
- High familiarity with technology and data with comfort using systems such as Microsoft Office, SAP, Concur, EthicsPoint, Salesforce based platforms.
- Ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones in a complex regional environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with professionalism.
