The Role

As the Market Access Lead, you will lead and execute Market Access, Pricing, Reimbursement, Key Account Excellence, and Value & Access initiatives across Saudi Arabia to ensure sustainable patient access to Amgen's portfolio.

The role is responsible for developing national and regional market access strategies, driving pricing and reimbursement initiatives, strengthening relationships with healthcare stakeholders and payers, supporting product launches, and ensuring commercial objectives are achieved through effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Reports to: Value, Access & Policy Director

Key Accountabilities

  • Maximize patient access and commercial success by demonstrating the value of Amgen products across public and private healthcare sectors.
  • Drive market access, pricing, reimbursement, and contracting strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure achievement of net sales objectives across assigned hospital and regional accounts.
  • Lead Key Account Excellence execution and support Key Account Managers (KAMs) to maximize account performance.
  • Develop and execute Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) strategies.
  • Manage pricing, rebates, contracts, and reimbursement activities in line with company policies.
  • Drive successful market access and launch readiness for new products.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with government authorities, payers, procurement bodies, healthcare institutions, and key decision-makers.
  • Generate market, payer, and policy insights to support commercial and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment across Commercial, Medical, Regulatory, Government Affairs, Legal, Sales, and other internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and execute national Market Access strategies supporting product launch readiness and long-term access.
  • Anticipate changes within the Saudi healthcare and reimbursement landscape.
  • Map healthcare decision-making processes and identify key influencers and decision-makers.
  • Develop pricing strategies and pricing policies across customer segments.
  • Build regional and national action plans in collaboration with cluster and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to commercial and marketing strategy development through market and payer insights.
  • Monitor healthcare policy developments and identify future access opportunities and risks.
  • Organize regular alignment meetings with regional and global Value & Access teams.

Execution

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with government authorities, public payers, private insurers, procurement bodies, healthcare providers, and key stakeholders.
  • Identify market access barriers and implement evidence-based solutions to improve patient access.
  • Lead the preparation of:
    • Reimbursement dossiers
    • Value propositions
    • Health economic evidence
    • Budget impact analysis
    • Value communication materials
  • Execute pricing, reimbursement, tender, contracting, and negotiation activities while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Lead negotiations with healthcare decision-makers to secure optimal pricing and reimbursement outcomes.
  • Execute Key Account Excellence processes and regional account plans.
  • Drive implementation of external engagement plans and policy initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent value messaging across all customer interactions.
  • Support successful introduction and reimbursement of new products.
  • Partner closely with Commercial, Medical, Regulatory, Government Affairs, Legal, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure aligned execution.

Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor sales performance, market access outcomes, pricing, reimbursement status, and account performance.
  • Track contract execution and fulfillment.
  • Conduct ongoing stakeholders and account analyses to identify opportunities and evolving customer needs.
  • Measure productivity, access outcomes, and overall business impact.
  • Share market intelligence, competitive insights, and payer updates with internal stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Saudi National.
  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, Biology, Health Economics, Public Health, or a related healthcare discipline.
  • 5–8 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry, including Market Access, Value & Access, Government Affairs, Key Account Management, or Hospital Commercial roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing hospital accounts, pricing, reimbursement, tenders, procurement, and contracting.
  • Proven success in launching new pharmaceutical products within hospital and healthcare settings.
  • Experience negotiating pricing and commercial agreements with healthcare decision makers.
  • Strong understanding of the Saudi healthcare system, including public payers, private insurers, hospital procurement, and government authorities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience developing business cases and communicating value propositions.
  • Experience working within cross-functional and matrix organizations.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to interpret scientific literature and deliver professional presentations in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or postgraduate education in Health Economics, Market Access, Pharmacy, Business Administration, HTA, Public Health, or related discipline.
  • Experience preparing reimbursement submissions, health economic models, budget impact analyses, and value dossiers.
  • Established relationships with Saudi health authorities, procurement organizations, or major healthcare institutions.
  • Experience leading teams or managing people.
  • Previous experience within a multinational pharmaceutical company, particularly in specialty care.
