Maintenance Planner/Scheduler Sr. Associate
What you will do

In this role the Maintenance Planner will join the Facilities & Engineering team responsible for planning and scheduling work activities for the maintenance teams. This is a highly critical role with the core responsibility of delivering detailed work orders that include all the tasks, parts and resources required for optimized, safe and accurate work execution by maintenance technicians and delivering a detailed schedule that is coordinated between manufacturing and maintenance while also responsible for optimizing the schedule based on labor, equipment, and facility constraints in a cGMP biotechnology facility. This role will also offer the opportunity to propose, participate, and lead team improvement initiatives to drive improved efficiency and equipment reliability.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for processing and administering all work order requests in the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for the site
- Communicates with requester to determine total scope of work and priority of the work to be performed.
- Receives all written and electronic customer work requests
- Verifies completeness of all entries
- Update information into CMMS
- Visit the job area to assess the scope of work
- Determine and outline the tasks required to complete the work
- Determine and purchase required parts
- Determines appropriate craft, amount of craft, labor group and estimated completion time
- Ensures every maintenance task performed is planned ensuring safety and quality
- Keeps requester informed as to the status of the work order until completion.
- Coordinates the preventive maintenance tracking and documentation programs
- Review scope and frequency of assignments with the manager/system owner and implement changes where required.
- Identifies resources and materials required implement the requested work
- May verify the availability of those resources prior to scheduling the work or arranges for appropriate alternatives
- Reviews the status of preventative maintenance work orders to ensure on time completion
- Plans shutdown activities and forecasts preventive maintenance activities to support workload and resource leveling and maintain workload awareness and readiness.
- Assists with coordination and recommendation of the use of outside services when outside labor is required to complete jobs.
- Review maintenance Job Plans for accuracy of work performed and equipment reliability.
- Builds and maintains the maintenance crafts schedule.
- Leads routine meetings with the different departments to review and agree upon the maintenance schedule.
- Participate in daily morning meetings with work center team to maintain and communicate the schedule.
- Responsible for the prioritization of maintenance work orders focusing on Safety, Quality and Production within a cGMP environment.
- Maintain a comprehensive backlog of all maintenance activity by work type (CMMS). Recognize the priority of the work order backlog and re-schedule when appropriate seeking direction from system owners and management.
- Trains maintenance personnel in proper maintenance reporting procedures, and in the use of CMMS software as a maintenance management tool.
- Generates reports to keep the maintenance management team informed of work progress and future work schedules.
- Using the CMMS system, forecasts work force needs for equipment maintenance.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as required for maintenance activities.
- Ensures all Preventative Maintenance Work is completed on time.
- Off business hour on-call support.

Basic Qualifications:
High school/GED + 4 years of Engineering or maintenance planning and/or scheduling experience
OR
Associate’s + 2 years of Engineering or maintenance planning and/or scheduling experience
OR
Bachelor’s + 6 months of Engineering or maintenance planning and/or scheduling experience
OR
Master's
Preferred Qualifications:
- Time management skills
- Customer service skills: ability to lead change, ability to lead a team, excellent communication (written and oral)
- Ability to work well with teams, open to change and ideas.
- A high degree of computer literacy and under minimal supervision, performs effectively within the established regulations and guidelines.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and error-proofing habits
- Knowledge of facility and manufacturing process and ability to problem solve across functional units.
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance management system preferably MAXIMO
- Knowledge of scheduling tools and systems (MS Project, Excel, Smartsheet)
- Ability to create business processes and standardized work

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
