Role: Medical Operations Intern
Term: 2026 – January through June
Location: Amgen Canada Head Office Flexible Commuter - 6775 Financial Drive, Suite 300, Mississauga, ON
Reports to: Senior Medical Advisor, Rare Disease
What You Will Do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will support the Sr. Medical Advisor in the responsibilities associated with the implementation and follow up of various planned medical activities.
Support the Medical Affairs team in the strategic development and execution of the Medical tactics.
- Operational support with budget, contracting and payments for medical tactics.
- Ensure quality and compliance in different medical activities.
- Be involved in the scientific content of the activities i.e. getting necessary approval of slides decks etc.
- Be the point of contact for partnership with Strategic Meeting Management (SMM) & Centre of Excellence (COE) for all activities.
- Assist in coordinating accredited continuing medical education and learning activities with Medical Advisor.
- Support the development of scientific advisory boards and speaker programs.
- Plan and coordinate Scientific Affairs activities at key scientific congresses.
- Manage vendors and consultants and project budgets.
- Take independent action on handling requests; determines the appropriate course of action while informing the medical advisor always.
- Take on ad-hoc projects/tasks

Basic Qualifications:
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
- 18 years or older
- Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
- Enrolled in the Queens University Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Management and Innovation Graduate Diploma program
Preferred Qualifications:
- Science Background with Pharmaceutical/Biotech experience
- Strong computer skills with the Microsoft Office suite of software including Outlook
- Be a strong team player and able to build productive internal/external relationships
- Flexible and adaptable and willing to participate in a variety of projects
- Be a self-motivator to achieve results with attention to detail
- Excel at written and oral communication
