Finance Senior Manager, Business Planning & Commercial Excellence

(Mexico & LATAM Distributors)

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will:

  • Leads business planning and decision-making processes incl. BGT, FC, and LRS; ensures all required financial analysis is provided by team.
  • Is Responsible at affiliate level for target setting, incentives plan design, implementation and calculations, internal consulting projects such as segmentations, sizing, territory alignment.
  • Leads commercial excellence and BP&A projects, partnering with team members across functions including marketing and sales.
  • Oversees reporting production and monitoring of actual and forecasted OPEX and revenues (on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis).
  • Designs, develops, and maintains data dashboards (using Power BI, Tableau, etc.) to track commercial important metrics and business performance.
  • Communicates and provides direction to MX BU Managers and LATAM Dist. team about financial trends and their business/strategic implications.
  • Prepares and presents high-quality dashboards and executive-ready decks summarizing business performance, financial outlook, and important metrics for local management team and region.
  • Ensures data accuracy and integrity for reliable reporting and decision-making and partners with accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensures all company data is collected, derived and consolidated data from all departments to produce reliable forecasting and plans.
  • Identifies process efficiencies and lead initiatives to streamline financial and planning workflows.

  • Takes decisions and ensures all department activities are driven within company guidelines.
  • Strong advocate of financial compliance within the organization.
  • Leads initiatives to develop innovative approaches and guidelines and partners with external and/or corporate teams.

Outputs

  • Financial Analysis for decision and strategic support.
  • Accurate and timely budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans for sales and Opex.
  • Automated and reliable BI/SFE dashboards and important metric frameworks delivering actionable insights.
  • Sales force effectiveness results that optimize field force productivity.
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering management reports and presentations to the Management Team and ELMAC/LATAM Leadership, both on a regular basis and upon request.
  • Capability building to strengthen analytics, planning, and execution excellence.
  • Trained and motivated SFE, FP&A and BI Teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in Finance, Business, Analytics, or Economics, along with specialized studies in financial analysis, controlling, accounting, and consolidation & 2 years of experience in FP&A, Business Intelligence, SFE, or Commercial Excellence roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry OR
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Analytics, or Economics, along with specialized studies in financial analysis, controlling, accounting, and consolidation & 4 years of experience in FP&A, Business Intelligence, SFE, or Commercial Excellence roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Analytics, or Economics, along with specialized studies in financial analysis, controlling, accounting, and consolidation & 6 years of experience in FP&A, Business Intelligence, SFE, or Commercial Excellence roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry OR
  • Associate’s degree in Finance, Business, Analytics, or Economics, along with specialized studies in financial analysis, controlling, accounting, and consolidation & 10 years of experience in FP&A, Business Intelligence, SFE, or Commercial Excellence roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience in FP&A, Business Intelligence, SFE, or Commercial Excellence roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Previous management experience of direct reports, including management level staff.
  • Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including modeling) and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in business intelligence, sales force effectiveness, commercial excellence, and finance.
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik), Hyperion, Anaplan, and SAP.
  • Strong capabilities in forecasting, scenario modeling, and data-driven insights.
  • Expertise in data visualization, reporting, and workflow optimization.
  • Consistent track record in change management, tool adoption, and team member collaboration.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrates customer focus, strategic problem-solving, and project planning.
  • Quick learner who motivates teams, adapts to new systems, and drives continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and delegation abilities.
  • Serves as a role model for Amgen Values.
