TAX MANAGER
LIVE
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Amgen is seeking a Transfer Pricing Manager to lead and oversee the global transfer pricing documentation process. This role is responsible for managing the preparation of the OECD Master File and local country files, strengthening audit defense, and supporting global tax risk management.
The Transfer Pricing Manager will serve as a key subject matter expert within the tax organization, owning the end-to-end documentation lifecycle and partnering with Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and business stakeholders to understand and accurately reflect Amgen's evolving business operations in its transfer pricing documentation. The role will also help advance documentation standards, governance processes, stakeholder coordination, and technology-enabled workflows to improve efficiency, consistency, and risk management.
While documentation management is the primary responsibility, the role also provides exposure to transfer pricing planning, audit defense, and cross-functional business initiatives.
This is a critical role that directly supports Amgen’s global compliance and controversy strategy.
Responsibilities:
Lead preparation, review, and finalization of the OECD Master File, U.S. and non-U.S. transfer pricing documentation requirements (including the U.S. Section 6662 documentation package), IP licensing reports, and global local country transfer pricing files.
Own the annual transfer pricing documentation cycle, including planning, scoping, timeline management, stakeholder coordination across regions, advisor coordination, issue escalation, and finalization.
Perform and review functional and economic analyses, and review third-party benchmarking studies to ensure technical robustness and consistency.
Ensure alignment between transfer pricing documentation, financial results, intercompany agreements, and underlying business operations, proactively identifying inconsistencies and collaborating with stakeholders to resolve them.
Partner with Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, regional tax teams, and other business stakeholders to understand business developments, value drivers, and operational changes, and translate those activities into accurate and supportable transfer pricing documentation.
Develop and maintain SOPs, templates, review protocols, documentation standards, and internal controls for the TPD process.
Manage and review the work of external advisors, as needed, to support documentation, benchmarking, and local country compliance requirements.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of AI-enabled templates, automated workflows, data management tools, and documentation technologies to enhance efficiency, consistency, and control within the transfer pricing documentation process.
Identify opportunities to streamline documentation processes, improve data quality, and leverage technology solutions to reduce manual effort and strengthen global documentation governance.
Identify potential transfer pricing documentation, audit, and controversy risks and communicate recommendations to senior tax leadership.
