You will also help operationalize digital trust and AI governance practices, supporting responsible data use, transparency, and ethical innovation. This role supports business and technical teams in safeguarding personal and sensitive data – including data used in AI and digital platforms – while enabling innovation and maintaining Amgen’s commitment to ethical and legal data handling.

  • Drives implementation and continuous improvement of comprehensive privacy frameworks, introducing process efficiencies and scalable controls aligned with global and local regulatory expectations
  • Monitors regulatory developments and ongoing compliance with privacy laws such as GDPR, and emerging AI and digital ethics regulations (e.g., EU AI Act), updating policies and practices as needed and translating requirements into actionable guidance for business and technology partners.
  • Conducts PIAs and data protection risk analyses for new projects, products, and third-party engagements, and provides recommendations to mitigate risks of moderate complexity, ensuring alignment with enterprise privacy standards.
  • Supports implementation of responsible AI and digital ethics practices by evaluating AI-related data use and visibility requirements in collaboration with Technology and Compliance teams, and chips in to the development of scalable governance models for emerging technologies.
  • Manages requests from data subjects regarding access, correction, deletion, and portability of personal data, evaluating patterns and proposing enhancements to address recurring issues.
  • Assesses and monitors third-party vendors for compliance with privacy controls, reviews data processing agreements, and supports vendor due diligence processes, including identifying gaps in vendor practices and recommending risk mitigation actions.
  • Maintains and updates privacy documentation and procedures, while collaborating with IT and business teams to embed privacy controls throughout the data lifecycle, and develops tools, templates, and guidance to streamline privacy activities.
  • Supports monitoring and reporting of data trust and AI governance metrics, ensuring accountability and compliance with Amgen’s digital ethics standards, and proposes enhanced critical metrics and evaluation mechanisms to improve program oversight.
  • Drives privacy project management by coordinating cross-functionally with product, marketing, and operations teams to achieve privacy objectives, ensure compliance, and deliver projects on time working under general direction while setting timelines and priorities based on project needs and calling out issues as appropriate.
  • Provides subject-matter guidance and informal training to business and technical teams to enhance organizational understanding of privacy obligations and emerging digital ethics requirements.
