WHAT YOU WILL DO

Environmental Sustainability is an evolving space with increasing market and regulatory requirements for action and reporting. In this vital role you will be responsible for coordinating multi-functional responses to new regulatory and customer environmental sustainability requirements at the global level and supporting climate change, circular economy and biodiversity initiatives.

Your work will lead Amgen to continued full compliance with environmental sustainability regulation and demonstrated environmental sustainability leadership.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

• Acting as the primary point of contact for customers and other stakeholder requests relating to environmental sustainability.
• Coordinating with technical subject matter experts (e.g. circular economy experts or carbon accounting experts) and others to provide high-quality responses to requests in a timely manner and ensuring high-quality, on-time responses when competing for new and/or repeat business.
• Identifying opportunities to improve environmental sustainability request responses.
• Tracking environmental sustainability regulation globally. Emerging regulations will likely cover diverse topics and disciplines, including but not limited to climate risk, resource use, waste, circular economy, water and biodiversity.
• Working with designated employees at each of Amgen’s sites, including office facilities, and functions to determine the implications of respective environmental sustainability regulations and requirements, and support activities to address implications.
• Supporting environmental sustainability engagement and training initiatives.
• Supporting internal and external environmental sustainability communication.
• Optimizing and maintaining our environmental sustainability collaboration and document management platform.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline and 4 years of experience or Master degree and 2 years of experience in Environmental Sustainability OR related field.
• Passion and interest in environmental sustainability.
• Strong collaboration in a diverse culture is a key differentiator for this role.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Relationship building skills.
• Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication.
• Project management skills.
• Experience working with ESG frameworks and concepts.
