About the Role
As a Senior Associate, Data Management within Amgen’s Marketing Data Hub (MDH), you will play an important role in enabling data-driven decision-making for our Commercial organization. You will contribute to the execution of data-enabling features, support data platform operations, and ensure seamless collaboration across global and cross-functional teams. Your work will help develop and sustain connected data products that generate actionable insights into prescriber and patient behavior.
Key Responsibilities
1. Execute Data-Enabling Features within Product Teams
- Support the execution and deployment of features within Commercial Data Platform Product teams, following established governance processes and SOPs
- Participate in all stages of the SDLC — including requirements gathering, design, testing, documentation, and deployment — in partnership with Technology and business stakeholders
- Collaborate with global teams to review business requests, assist in designing solutions, and estimate effort for backlog items
- Ensure adherence to governance and testing standards, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and documentation traceability
- Work with a variety of marketing and commercial data sources (e.g., marketing campaign data, HCP/Patient activity, IQVIA data, CRM systems)
- Contribute to the development of connected data products that support insights into prescriber and patient engagement and targeting strategies
- Support platform monitoring activities by identifying anomalies, documenting issues, and assisting in remediation efforts
- Partner with peers across Data Management pillars (MDM, Platforms, Patient Data, Governance) to ensure alignment on data strategies and delivery
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and recommend process enhancements
2. Support Work Transition and Insourcing
- Assist in the transition of operational data management work to the Amgen India Innovation Center, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer and minimal business disruption
- Contribute to the insourcing of Data Management Operations from external vendors through documentation, coordination, and process standardization
- Maintain and enhance knowledge repositories to enable consistent and efficient global operations
3. Collaborate Across Teams and Functions
- Work closely with Commercial Data Strategy, Data Management, and Technology teams to support execution of key initiatives
- Collaborate across time zones to ensure deliverables meet platform governance and enterprise standards
- Act as a bridge between AIIC and global teams, ensuring alignment on processes, priorities, and success measures
Basic Qualifications
- Any degree and 5–9 years of data management or pharmaceutical data experience
- Experience working in global, cross-time-zone teams
- Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
Functional Skills
Must-Have
- Experience contributing to high-performing data management or platform teams
- Understanding of Data Platform Operations within Agile Product environments
- Exposure to pharma marketing datasets (social, search, NPP, Google Analytics, HCP/Patient activity, campaign data); familiarity with SFMC or Datorama is a plus
- Foundational understanding of data architecture, modeling, and profiling
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Databricks, and scripting tools (SQL, Python, R)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to quickly grasp new data concepts and end-to-end commercial data flows
- Eagerness to learn emerging technologies and best practices in data management and analytics
Good-to-Have
- Familiarity with syndicated commercial datasets and use cases
- Experience working in multinational teams
- Understanding of data compliance, privacy, and regulatory considerations
- Awareness of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
