This role will serve as the Scrum Master and Agile delivery leader for Amgen’s Global Supply Chain Analytics team.The ideal candidate will have a proven track recordina technology-driven industry. The Scrum Master is a leader and coach who facilitates, processes, and supports teams in delivering value. The candidate will have deep knowledge of Agile frameworks, strong facilitation skills, and experience working across cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of business-critical solutions. This person will guide teams through Scrum practices, coach stakeholders, and eliminate roadblocks to ensure smooth delivery cycles. The role involves facilitating communication and collaboration among teams, ensuring alignment with the program vision, managing risks and dependencies, and driving relentless improvement. They help adapt SAFe to the organization’s needs, standardizing and documenting practices.
The ideal candidate will have strong business analysis skills and technical background in end-to-end software development lifecycle, proficiency in working with cross functional complex integration projects, and ensuring compliance with privacy standards.The candidate should be a self-starter and have a strong passion for fostering innovation and excellence in the biotechnology industry.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead all Agile ceremonies (Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospectives) across one or more supply chain-focused product teams.
Foster Agile discipline while ensuring flexibility to meet real-world operational demands.
Use tools like Jira, AWS DevOps, or ServiceNow Agile to manage backlogs, track progress, and resolve blockers.
Promote Agile values and principles across teams and stakeholders.
Act as a servant leader and coach for one or more Agile teams.
Mentor team members on Agile/Scrum best practices, fostering continuous improvement and high team morale.
Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to groom and prioritize backlogs that address supply chain planning, visibility, and analytics needs.
Align delivery with supply chain strategic goals such as demand forecasting, supplier collaboration, inventory optimization, and real-time tracking.
Ensure adherence to Definition of Done and delivery against Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
Work with the Global Supply Chain Data Analytics/AI Product Owner to ensure well-groomed and prioritized backlogs.
Balance feature delivery with high-quality ongoing support, especially during supply chain disruptions or system upgrades.
Collaborate with the incident and change management teams to ensure stable operations and minimal downtime.
Track and report metrics on issue resolution, support trends, and team performance.
Monitor sprint metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time) and provide regular status reports.
Drive Agile maturity assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to Agile maturity assessments and retrospectives to continuously improve processes.
Ensure compliance with GxP, SOX, or other relevant regulatory frameworks as applicable to supply chain systems.
Be a part of an Agile project team utilizing the Agile / Scrum methodologies, working in a fast-paced, iterative environment, closely partnering with business stakeholders
Partner with Scrum Master, Product Owner and the team in defining Technical User Stories, Partners with Product Owner to identify and prioritize enabler work
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
8 - 13 years of experience in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, IT or Supply Chain
Functional Skills:
Must-Have Skills:
5+ years of experience as a Scrum master’s in software development and/or support environments adapting SAFe and Agile practices
Deep understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
Experience with Jira, Confluence, AWS DevOps, or similar tools
Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills
Effective communication and organizational skills
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud-based product environments is a plus
Understanding of the solution development life cycle, including business requirements definition, review of functional specifications, development of test plans, testing, user training, and deployment
Develop and maintain System Architecture models (e.g. System Interaction diagrams) and reference implementations within systems of record (e.g. Portfolio Management and Enterprise Architecture tools)
Knowledge of sprint-based planning and estimations required for implementation
Good-to-Have Skills:
Prior experience with any Supply chain Analytics projects
Extensive experience in software development lifecycle
Experience using and adoption of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Established business partnerships and IS governance practices involving senior business stakeholders
Broad working knowledge of key IS domains and layers
Understanding of FDA regulations governing computer system validation and operation
Familiarity with security requirements and best practices for data at rest and in transit
Success in mentoring and developing strong product analysts, business analysts, and developers
Experience in FMCG/CPG/Retail/Manufacturing industry
Professional Certifications:
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent certification required.
PMP or ITIL Foundation is a plus for support-focused roles
