Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will lead data analytics, automation, and technology innovation initiatives within Corporate Audit. You will execute the Corporate Audit technology strategy, oversee audit technology platforms, organize technical training to upskill staff, and support the leadership team with innovation, data, automation, and reporting. This includes creating and overseeing processes for receiving and transferring data to and from business partner systems, transforming and combining data from multiple sources, designing data structures, developing critical metrics, and delivering reporting solutions that support Corporate Audit objectives.
This role will help Corporate Audit continue to strengthen Amgen’s control environment by embedding data analytics and automation into audit planning, scoping, execution, reporting, risk assessment, and monitoring activities. The role will partner across Corporate Audit, Information Systems, Finance, Compliance, Operations, and external vendors to identify technology-enabled opportunities that improve audit effectiveness, increase speed, reduce manual effort, and provide meaningful insight across Amgen’s audit universe.
Corporate Audit provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve Amgen’s operations. Corporate Audit supports the achievement of Amgen’s business objectives by applying a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
Key responsibilities include:
Audit Analytics, Automation & Innovation
- Lead Corporate Audit’s data analytics, automation, and technology innovation initiatives, including the ongoing development and execution of the department’s technology roadmap.
- Analyze data to identify and implement analytics, automation, and reporting solutions that provide meaningful insight and improve the effectiveness of audit planning and execution across the audit universe.
- Embed analytics into audit methodology and related processes, including risk assessment, audit planning, scoping, fieldwork, exception analysis, issue impact quantification, corrective action validation, and reporting.
- Drive automation opportunities that streamline audit procedures, improve consistency, and reduce manual effort across Corporate Audit activities.
Data Management, Reporting & Technology Enablement
- Design and develop processes to extract data from internal and external sources, transform the data into meaningful business and audit-relevant elements, combine data across sources, and load data into appropriate data structures for analysis and reporting.
- Support audit teams through onboarding new data sets, maintaining existing data sets, and enabling continued access to relevant systems, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
- Develop metrics, key risk indicators, key performance indicators, dashboards, and other reporting solutions to make data-driven insights available to audit teams, business partners, and leadership.
- Provide production support for data-related processes to ensure business continuity, performance, and integrity of reports, dashboards, automations, and other business-visible data solutions.
Business Partnership & Audit Support
- Work collaboratively with IT teams, internal business partners, audit teams, and external vendors to identify, understand, implement, and support new technology capabilities while maintaining alignment to Corporate Audit objectives.
- Maintain and enhance analytics that support affiliate audits, distributor audits, investigations, functional audits, IS audits, SOX-related activities, third-party reviews, and other Corporate Audit services.
- Be an analytics business partner to customers in the Compliance organization.
Leadership, Training & Continuous Improvement
- Support continuous improvement of Corporate Audit’s technology ecosystem, including audit management systems, collaboration tools, reporting platforms, automation tools, and data visualization solutions.
- Partner with audit leadership to identify training needs, deliver technical training, and build data analytics and technology capabilities across the Corporate Audit team.
- Exercise sound judgment and initiative in handling business issues of significance to Corporate Audit and Amgen.
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
- Travel: International and domestic travel up to 10% may be necessary to support clients, audits, or training.

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 8 years of data analytics, audit, finance, information systems, or related experience
Or
Master’s degree and 10 years of data analytics, audit, finance, information systems, or related experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of data analytics, audit, finance, information systems, or related experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 14 years of data analytics, audit, finance, information systems, or related experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 14+ years of data analytics, audit, finance, information systems, or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Audit, Risk & Control Experience
- 12+ years of demonstrated success in roles involving business process analysis, data analysis, audit analytics, audit automation, or large technology-related projects.
- Experience applying data analytics within internal audit, compliance, finance, information systems, SOX, or risk management processes.
- Experience with audit analytics, computer-assisted audit techniques, continuous risk monitoring, exception-based testing, or data-driven audit planning and scoping.
- Knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management, governance, controls, and audit methodology.
- Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, finance, compliance, internal audit, external audit, or Fortune 500 experience.
Data, Analytics & Technology Skills
- Experience identifying, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Proficiency with data cleansing, blending, validation, transformation, and analysis using tools such as Alteryx Designer, Databricks, SAS, Python, SQL, or similar technologies.
- Experience developing dashboards and visual analytics using Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization platforms.
- Experience with automation technologies and workflow tools such as Power Automate, UiPath, AuditBoard (Optro), Smartsheet, Microsoft Forms, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with enterprise applications and data sources such as SAP, Concur, Workday, C3, Veeva, AuditBoard (Optro), data lakes, or enterprise data warehouses.
Leadership, Collaboration & Professional Credentials
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels.
- Ability to work successfully in a highly matrixed environment with audit teams, technology teams, business partners, and external vendors.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding, and dynamic work environment.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, CPA, CISSP, CRISC, CISM, CGEIT, PMP, or relevant data analytics / technology certifications.
