About the Role

As a Senior Associate, Patient Data Management, you will be part of Amgen’s global Patient Data Management team, supporting the design, integration, and ongoing management of patient data assets that power analytics and insights into the patient journey.

You will play an integral execution role—working closely with cross-functional partners, vendors, and global teams to ensure that Amgen’s patient data (e.g., Patient Support Programs and Specialty Pharmacy data) is accurately curated, compliant, and readily available for downstream analytics and reporting.

This role offers a strong platform to build expertise in pharma data managementdata governance, and patient analytics enablement within a global, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support Patient Data Operations and Integration

  • Assist in gathering data requirements for onboarding new Patient Support Programs (PSP), Specialty Pharmacy (SP) partners, and other patient-level data sources
  • Support implementation of end-to-end data curation and transformation processes for new and existing patient data feeds
  • Participate in linking first- and third-party patient data assets to enable longitudinal patient journey analytics across data sources (e.g., SPP, Hub, Syndicated)
  • Monitor daily operations of patient data aggregation, ensuring timely data delivery and accuracy in collaboration with vendor partners
  • Identify, log, and help resolve data quality issues and anomalies across patient data pipelines
  • Support data validation, audit, and reconciliation processes to ensure data completeness and integrity
  • Ensure adherence to Amgen’s Privacy, Compliance, and Security SOPs for all patient-level data assets

2. Data Governance and Compliance

  • Support governance processes for secure and compliant access to sensitive patient data
  • Maintain documentation for data onboarding, lineage, and access approval workflows
  • Assist in implementing data controls, validations, and checks in line with governance requirements
  • Contribute to periodic audits and reviews to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory policies

3. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with cross-functional teams—including Patient Access, IS, and Commercial Data Strategy—to align on data requirements, deliverables, and quality standards
  • Coordinate with external data vendors to track deliverables, manage issues, and ensure smooth data ingestion and processing
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency
  • Support documentation, knowledge sharing, and team training materials to enhance operational consistency

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and 1–3 years of relevant pharmaceutical data management experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years of relevant pharmaceutical data management experience
  • Experience working in global, cross-functional teams across time zones
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent English (written and spoken)

Functional Skills

Must-Have

  • Experience in data management, analytics, or commercial operations within the pharmaceutical or life sciences domain
  • Hands-on experience with large data sets and translating data into insights or reports
  • Familiarity with data technologies and tools such as AWS or other cloud platforms, SQL, Databricks, Tableau, SAS, Python, or R
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear data requirements for IT and vendor teams
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and governance
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with global stakeholders

Good-to-Have

  • Exposure to patient-level data sources such as PSPs, Specialty Pharmacies, Syndicated Claims, or Digital Data
  • Understanding of data privacy and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)
  • Experience working in Agile or Product Team environments
  • Awareness of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow through on deliverables with minimal supervision
