What you will do

In this vital role the Manager, Field Effectiveness plays a critical hands-on role in supporting the effectiveness of the sales force through high-quality data analysis, reporting, and operational execution. This role sits at the intersection of data analytics, commercial operations, and field strategy, with a focus on enabling actionable insights and operational excellence.
This position reports to the Sr Manager, Field Effectiveness and will be responsible for the following
Responsibilities -
Field Data Analysis & Insights
- Extract, clean, and analyze large datasets from Veeva CRM, distribution partners (e.g., specialty pharmacies/wholesalers), claims data (e.g., Symphony, IQVIA), and internal patient services platforms.
- Conduct analysis of execution for Field Sales teams to assess reach, frequency, HCP engagement trends, and account targeting effectiveness.
Operational Execution & Field Enablement
- Execute and manage regular territory alignments, roster updates, and call-plan deployments across therapeutic areas, ensuring accuracy and alignment.
- Ensure operational delivery of tools used by the field—e.g., Veeva CRM, Next Best Action dashboards, digital companion tools, Alerts, and call plan refreshes.
Sales Force Size/Structure & Deployment
- Lead end-to-end size & structure, including new product launches, reorganizations, annual realignments and alignment cycles.
- Manage deployment planning to ensure optimal coverage of healthcare providers (HCPs), accounts, and geographies.
- Leverage internal resources in marketing, media, finance to design optimal and performance-driven territories.
- Partner with sales leadership to adjust alignments based on market dynamics and business priorities.
- Develop communication strategies for field force notifications, placement deliverables.
Field Force Effectiveness
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance field productivity, including call planning, coverage optimization, and targeting.
- Build KPI dashboards and performance reporting to track territory efficiency, sales team impact, and customer reach.
- Conduct periodic targeting audit, by providing insights into workload balance, call frequency, and engagement quality.
Compliance, Quality, and Process Optimization
- Ensure all analytics and reports adhere to promotional and non-promotional field engagement compliance requirements (e.g., Sunshine Act, sampling rules, HCP engagement limits).
- Document processes and assumptions used in analytics pipelines and reports to support internal audit readiness and training.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process refinement using SQL, Python, or ETL tools to reduce manual data handling and improve cycle times.
Project Management, Issue Tracking and Status Reporting
- Track, manage, and drive resolution of issues and action items using systems such as JIRA and ServiceNow; ensure timely closure with clear ownership and supporting documentation.
- Apply structured project management approaches to plan, monitor, and deliver cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment across stakeholders and timely risk mitigation.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including timelines, decision logs, issue trackers, and closure reports to support governance and knowledge transfer.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree & 8+ years of experience in sales analytics, sales operations, and/or field effectiveness
- Master’s degree & 6+ years of experience in sales analytics, sales operations, and/or field effectiveness
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Bio/Pharmaceutical industry experience
- Ability to write SQL queries and ability to do data analysis, data visualization and creating presentations.
- Execution-Focused Delivery: Own and execute day-to-day analytics tasks, reporting development, and field data operations with speed, accuracy, and minimal oversight.
- Insight Generation: Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that inform territory strategy, account planning, and field engagement performance.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of relevant software and technologies, such as sales planning and operations platforms (targeting, alignment and roster management, incentive compensation), sales CRM, and other field-specific tools, is important.
- Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to diagnose business issues and incorporate into development or adjustment of strategies, plans and tactics to achieve business objectives
- Communication: Effective communication is key, both in writing and verbally. This includes the ability to present data and findings clearly to stakeholders and team members. Ability to create training documents and communication deliverables based on projects/ needs.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross team and cross functional team partners to lead projects and operational activities.
- Oral, written and presentation skills to explain complex concepts and controversial findings clearly to a variety of audiences, including senior management
- Ability to identify areas for process and systems innovation and implement change that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the team
- Understanding of technology platforms and ability to partner with IS/IT and business leaders
- Good to have: Ability to create US based territories and maps using tools such as Javelin or similar tools
