We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in financial controls, financial processes and statutory accounting principles and practices, with a proven track record of managing financial and accounting operations in a corporate environment. The Finance Manager will lead local accounting, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements and regulatory standards and adherence to Amgen’s internal controls and policies. This role reports directly to the Amgen India Finance Site Lead.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day local financial processes and controls including statutory accounting. Partner with global accounting to ensure appropriate general ledger and financial reporting for Amgen India site
- Ensure transactions aligned to local accounting principles
- Ensures fulfillment of company obligations/payments to third parties and Amgen employees according to local and corporate instructions
- Fulfills all statutory accounting and reporting activities as well as local tax authorities’ requirements, in compliance with applicable legislation
- Ensures accuracy of tax forms presented to local authorities and timely payment of local taxes (VAT, CIT, local business taxes, etc)
- Prepare accurate local cash-flow forecast to ensure proper funding
- Support payroll administration in partnership with local Human Resources (HR)
- Partner with Global Accounting team for period close including statutory accounting activities.
- Adherence to accounting calendar in coordination with global stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and seek appropriate support to fulfill the requirements.
- Support intercompany accounting processes in partnership with global stakeholders
- Play a pivotal role in wider projects across Finance organization (e.g. S/4 HANA and Process Modernization/ Improvement)
- Support Amgen’s continuous improvement agenda, where applicable
- Contributes to a learning environment, supports the team growth and development, and enhances learning methodologies and technical tools where applicable.
- Reviews accounting entries and supports account reconciliation process that Global Accounting performs for Amgen India.
- Understands local statutory requirements and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory financial standards, including:
- Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)
- International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)
Functional Skills:

- Knowledge of financial management and local accounting principles.

Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Basic Qualifications:
- Certified public accountant / Chartered accountant certification
- Master's degree and 9 - 10 years of Accounting experience;
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree
- Managerial and financial experience in a pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting senior leaders of an organization as an Accounting or Finance business partner or in some other advisory capacity
- Managerial experience to include hiring and staff performance management
