Dir Commercial Analytics

Amgen is seeking a Director of Commercial Analytics to lead a high-impact analytics organization that elevates enterprise decision-making and strengthens US commercial performance. This leader will play a key role in establishing India as a strategic global analytics hub – by setting standards, improving performance transparency, and accelerating insight-driven decisions across portfolio.

The Director will oversee core analytics delivery functions including performance insights and integration with other CD&A functions. They will work closely with US teams and stakeholders to shape priorities, manage resources, and uphold analytical excellence.

Success in this role requires a leader who can translate data into strategic direction, collaborate effectively throughout the organization, influence senior stakeholders, and drive the shift toward automated, productized, and AI-enabled analytics solutions.

1. Strategy & Governance

• Define and drive the Commercial Analytics strategy for India as a global hub with clear operating principles, methodologies, and delivery standards.
• Serve as a strategic thought partner to Commercial and CD&A leadership, shaping how performance is defined and measured
• Design, harmonize, and govern enterprise KPIs with clear definitions and consistent methodologies across portfolio.

• Own the intake and prioritization model for commercial analytics work originating in India - aligning resources against enterprise priorities and managing trade-offs with US and global partners.
• Establish frameworks that guide how teams translate business needs into analytical approaches, ensuring clarity of decision context and expected outcomes.

2. Performance Insights & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Lead commercial performance analytics to proactively identify opportunities, risks, and business drivers - informing portfolio decisions and commercial investment choices.
• Integrate insights across forecasting, market research, access, and decision science to deliver unified, cross-functional recommendations.
• Communicate insights with clarity and influence, using strong commercial judgment and structured storytelling.
• Drive automation, productization, and workflow reusability to reduce manual effort and accelerate decision cycles.
• Set the direction for AI-enabled insight generation - enabling automated commentary, predictive signals, and scalable analytics capabilities across markets.

3. Team & Delivery Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing analytics team in India with capabilities in performance analytics, visualization, and insight generation.
• Develop talent through coaching, structured problem solving, and global exposure that strengthens analytical, technical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Shape a culture grounded in curiosity, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
• Represent Commercial Analytics as a senior leader at the Amgen India site, contributing to talent development, culture-building, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Shape and manage hybrid delivery models - internal teams and vendors - to ensure scalable, high-quality analytics output.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

• Doctorate degree / Master’s degree with 18+yrs of Industrial experience.

• 4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources.
