Role Overview

The Associate Data Scientist is an entry-level role supporting data science initiatives across Amgen’s portfolio. This role will work closely with Data Science Leads and senior team members to contribute to analytics, modeling, and insight generation, while building strong foundations in applied data science.

Live | What you will do

• Supportanalytics and data science projectsacross commercial use cases in the Gen Med portfolio
• Assist indata preparation, exploratory analysis, and feature engineeringto enable modeling efforts
• Contribute to development and testing ofpredictive models and analytical frameworksunder guidance of senior data scientists
• Performmetric tracking, performance analysis, and validation checkswith high attention to detail
• Support creation ofinsight summaries, visualizations, and presentationsfor business stakeholders
• Maintain and updatecode, dashboards, and analytical assetsin Python/SQL environments
• Follow best practices fordocumentation, QA, and reproducibility
• Collaborate with team members to meet project timelines and communicate progress effectively
• Engage in continuous learning acrosspredictive modeling, experimentation, and commercial analytics methods

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
• 3 years of experience inanalytics, data science, or related roles
• Working knowledge ofPython and SQL
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to deliverhigh-quality, accurate work

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure topredictive modeling, experimentation, or statistical analysis
• Familiarity withcommercial analytics or marketing performance measurement
• Interest inhealthcare, pharma, or life sciences analytics
• Experience with tools such asJupyter notebooks, Git, or data visualization platforms
• Ability to work collaboratively withcross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
