What You Can Do
As a BusinessObjects (BOBJ) Platform Administrator, you manage and optimize the enterprise BI environment to ensure seamless access to data, reports, and dashboards across the organization. You provide technical expertise in platform maintenance, security, performance tuning, and user support for SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x. Your role bridges the gap between IT infrastructure and business analytics teams — enabling reliable, secure, and scalable BI operations.
What We Expect of You
Administer, configure, and maintain SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform (4.x) — including Central Management Console (CMC), Central Configuration Manager (CCM), and BI Launch Pad.
Manage user security, access control, and folder-level permissions in alignment with organizational governance.
Deploy and schedule reports using Web Intelligence (WebI), Crystal Reports, and Lumira/BO Dashboards.
Perform regular backup, upgrade, patching, and performance tuning activities for the BOBJ environment.
Monitor servers (Adaptive Processing Server, Adaptive Job Server, CMS, etc.) and optimize job scheduling for performance.
Troubleshoot platform issues, coordinate with infrastructure and database teams, and ensure high system availability.
Collaborate with BI developers and data teams to maintain reliable data connections (Oracle, SQL Server, HANA, Snowflake).
Document configurations, operational procedures, and change management details.
Ensure compliance with data governance and audit requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in BI platform administration, with strong focus on SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x.
Proficient in CMC and CCM administration, user/group management, and repository management.
Working knowledge of WebI report deployment, universes (UNV/UNX), and data connections.
Experience with SQL and database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, or Snowflake).
Familiarity with Windows Server environments, networking basics, and authentication (LDAP/AD).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing clustered/multi-node BOBJ environments for scalability and high availability.
Exposure to integration with SAP BW or HANA systems.
Understanding of SIA (Server Intelligence Agent) configuration and server tuning.
Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python, or batch scripts) for automation and monitoring.
Familiarity with version control (Git) and ITIL-based change management processes.
Knowledge of other BI tools such as TIBCO Spotfire, Tableau, or Power BI (a plus).
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset for complex platform issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently and lead small initiatives or upgrades.
Meticulous documentation and process discipline.
Passion for continuous improvement, platform stability, and user experience.
