Director, Field Reimbursement - West
What you will do
Lead the Respiratory Field Reimbursement organization through Senior Managers who lead Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs). Set the capability’s vision, operating model, priorities, and performance expectations; develop strong leaders; and translate enterprise access strategy into consistent field execution. Use market intelligence and performance data to improve patient access and customer experience, address barriers, and build a scalable organization ready for payer change, new indications, and growth.
Primary Responsibilities
• Lead, coach, and hold Senior Managers accountable as leaders of leaders; build strong FRM teams through clear goals, feedback, development, talent planning, and consistent performance standards.
• Support & lead the capability’s vision, operating model, priorities, and performance expectations; translate enterprise access strategy into consistent regional execution and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and trust.
• Connect field activity, customer insights, access trends, capacity, and business outcomes through a clear performance framework. Use analytics, reporting, CRM, and data quality insights to identify gaps, diagnose drivers, and guide action.
• Maintain deep Specialty Pharmacy and Buy & Bill expertise, including dual-benefit products, payer policy, coding, coverage, payment, distribution, affordability, and reimbursement. Monitor payer, channel, competitive, and stakeholder trends; identify access barriers and recommend solutions.
• Deliver an exceptional, compliant access experience through reimbursement expertise, responsive customer engagement, issue resolution, cross-functional coordination, and effective oversight of policies, rules of engagement, and quality controls.
• Build alignment with Sales, Key Account Management, Market Access, Medical, Patient Services/HUB, Operations, Training, Legal, Compliance, and other partners.
• Connect field performance, customer insights,and payer and market trends to patient, customer, and business outcomes. Translate implications, risks, and opportunities into recommendations that inform access, customer, and business strategy. Develop executive-ready presentations and business reviews, and bring the field perspective to senior forums.
• Lead readiness for new indications, launches, geographic expansion, and evolving access models, including staffing, organizational design, leader readiness, training, deployment, workflows, and performance measurement.
• Drive operational excellence through effective resource allocation, capacity and business planning, escalation management, technology adoption, and timely follow-through.
• Spend time in the field with leaders and FRM teams to assess execution, coach leadership behaviors, strengthen capabilities, and reinforce organizational priorities.
Working Conditions
• Field-based leadership role requiring regular travel within the assigned organization to coach leaders, participate in business reviews, assess field execution, and engage with key internal and external stakeholders.
• General office demands – Remote, Work from Home.
• Must be able to travel up to 50% via automobile or plane.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Basic Qualifications:
• Doctorate degree; OR
• Master’s degree and 5 years of customer service and/or leadership experience; OR
• Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of customer service and/or leadership experience; OR
• Associate’s degree and 12 years of customer service and/or leadership experience; OR
• High school diploma / GED and 14 years of customer service and/or leadership experience.
Minimum Job Qualifications
• Minimum eight years of progressive experience in field leadership, market access, reimbursement, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or related experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading field-based teams and developing leaders, including experience directly managing people leaders or managers.
• Demonstrated expertise in both Specialty Pharmacy (pharmacy benefit) and Buy & Bill (medical benefit) reimbursement, with the ability to navigate dual-benefit product models and their associated access dynamics.
• Strong strategic planning, analytical reasoning, and business acumen, with demonstrated ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, assess opportunities, and make fact-based decisions.
• Deep understanding of reimbursement, payer policy, coverage, coding, payment, distribution, and affordability across Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid environments.
• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams through coaching, performance management, talent development, and accountability.
• Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, translate strategy into execution, and manage complex business priorities across a matrixed organization.
• Exceptional executive communication, written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise recommendations and communicate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and build trusted relationships across Sales, Market Access, Medical, Patient Services/HUB, Operations, Training, Legal, Compliance, and other functions.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethical, legal, and compliance standards and ability to establish and reinforce compliant field execution.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in business, healthcare, public health, pharmacy, or a related field.
• Experience leading a geographically dispersed field reimbursement organization or comparable field-based access capability.
• Experience building or significantly scaling a field organization, including organizational design, staffing strategy, onboarding, capability development, and readiness for new indications or launches.
• Experience developing performance frameworks that connect field activity to customer, access, patient, or business outcomes.
• Advanced knowledge of Medicare Parts B and D, Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, Commercial payer environments, and specialty product reimbursement.
• Experience working with specialty/biologic products across pharmacy and medical benefit channels.
• Experience partnering with analytics, technology, or operations teams to improve reporting, CRM adoption, capacity management, and performance insights.
• Ability to manage ambiguity, anticipate changes in the healthcare ecosystem, and translate emerging market and payer dynamics into strategic action.
• Experience managing budgets, resources, and investments to support organizational priorities.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
