Job Summary

The Utilities Maintenance Supervisor supports the execution, coordination, and oversight of maintenance activities across Utilities within Facilities & Engineering (F&E) function. This role ensures the reliable operation of systems and equipment by supporting maintenance teams, managing workload distribution, and driving operational performance. The Maintenance Supervisor holds responsibility for system performance, maintenance planning alignment, compliance, and the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective maintenance operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Maintenance Operations Leadership

- Direct and coordinate the full execution of the maintenance plan with planners, technicians, and system owners.

- Lead response efforts for unplanned events, equipment failures, and emergent work, ensuring rapid resource mobilisation and clear communication.

- Ensure continuity across all shifts through structured handovers, documented priorities, and aligned execution.

- Oversee backlog management, work order progression, and CCMS/Maximo data accuracy.

- Maintain high standards of execution, ensuring work is completed right first time and within defined timelines.

2. System Ownership

- Maintain full accountability for assigned systems, including performance monitoring, reliability, and uptime optimisation.

- Conduct routine data trending and performance analysis to identify early indicators of degradation or failure.

- Lead risk assessments, troubleshooting activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Manage system documentation, including procedures, training materials, and controlled documentation updates.

- Ensure Engineering change controls are effectively authored, reviewed, and implemented.

3. Technical & Cross Functional Leadership

- Represent Utilities Maintenance in daily and weekly planning, technical, and cross functional coordination meetings.

- Prepare and deliver reports, metrics, dashboards, and performance updates for the Maintenance Manager and senior leadership.

- Lead coordination of shutdowns, CQV activities, across complex multi‑shift work.

- Drive investigations into deviations, equipment issues, and CAPA development and closure.

4. Safety, Quality & Compliance

- Enforce adherence to GxP, EHS standards, and aseptic/cleanroom requirements across all maintenance activities.

- Ensure maintenance tasks are performed safely, correctly, and in compliance with regulatory expectations.

- Oversee training compliance, system access governance, and skills matrix management for Utilities personnel.

- Promote a strong safety culture through coaching, oversight, and consistent application of standards.

5. Continuous Improvement & Reliability Enhancement

- Drive process optimisation, standard work adoption, and maintenance excellence initiatives.

- Identify systemic inefficiencies, equipment reliability risks, and operational bottlenecks, and implement corrective solutions.

- Lead improvements in planning, scheduling, and reliability strategies to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.

- Implement data driven decision-making to strengthen maintenance effectiveness and workforce productivity.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).

- 5+ years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing, utilities, engineering, or maintenance environment.

- Demonstrated experience in equipment troubleshooting, maintenance leadership, or technical operations.

Knowledge & Relevant Experience

- Strong working knowledge of GMP/GxP and EHS regulatory requirements, preferred.

- Proficiency with CMMS platforms (Maximo, SAP, or equivalent).

- Experience with maintenance strategy development, reliability principles, and performance metrics.

- Competence in deviation management, change control, and CAPA processes, preferred.
