We are pleased to bring to market a unique and exciting opportunity for a talented Corporate Communications Manager to support the development and enhancement of the Amgen brand, across our manufacturing and commercial organizations, through strategic corporate affairs imperatives in Ireland.

They will lead on internal communications for a manufacturing site employing over 1500+ staff across a wide variety of roles and shift patterns to ensure consistent and effective employee engagement. 

Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Affairs, this role is responsible for enhancing Amgen’s reputation and visibility through strategic communications, event management, and community initiatives to further its mission in serving patients. This role leads the planning, development, and execution of internal and external communication programs, corporate events, and sponsorship activities that align with business goals and strengthen stakeholder engagement – internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Communications

  • Lead internal communications to ensure consistent and effective messaging and branding across departments.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote the company’s brand, culture, and corporate narrative.
  • Manage media relations, social media, public affairs initiatives and develop creative and compelling content to support brand visibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Talent, HR, Legal and Compliance) to align communication efforts.
  • Monitor and report on communication performance metrics (media coverage, engagement, sentiment analysis).

Events Management

  • Plan, organise, and execute high-impact corporate events, including site visits, town halls and employee engagement activities.
  • Manage event budgets, vendor relationships, logistics, and post-event evaluations.
  • Ensure events reflect the company’s brand identity and strategic objectives.

Community & Partnerships

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage community and partnership opportunities that align with brand and corporate strategy.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners including community organisations, education, NGO and patient organisations.
  • Oversee activation plans to ensure partnerships are fully leveraged across internal and external communication channels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate affairs, public relations, or a similar role, in an agency or in-house setting preferably with experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing corporate events and sponsorship activations, reputation, employee engagement, and stakeholder relations.
  • Strong understanding of the Irish media landscape and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in crisis communication and issue management.
