We are currently seeking a Lab Manager to join our Device Engineering team located in Søborg, Denmark. As Lab Manager you will ensure that all aspects of the device development laboratory are in conformance with applicable laws and internal procedures. You will manage the safety, compliance and operation of the lab and are responsible for procurement of equipment, maintenance and calibration of instruments.
Additionally, this role includes close collaboration with the local device test teams and our device lab located in other Amgen locations, such as in Cambridge, MA and Thousand Oaks, CA. This cross-site engagement supports alignment on testing strategies, equipment standards, and benchmark to ensure consistency and innovation across device development efforts.
Specifically, job responsibilities will include the following tasks:
- Lab safety, compliance and general management
- Collaborate with device teams on test method development, test execution, data analysis and reporting
- Coordinate vendor and external staff management for maintenance and calibration
- Verify all calibration processes and outcome
- Lab budgeting
- Manage technical training and safety training
- Manage the development and revision of SOPs and training documents
- Hazardous waste management
- Procurement of equipment and collaboration with the Environmental Health & Safety team to get new equipment and systems approved
- Manage Lab related shipments

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for the Lab Manager role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering, Sciences or related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Fluency in English and Danish languages
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in laboratory safety management principles and Hazardous Waste Management
- Experience in instrumentation and calibrations
- Experience with Development and qualification of test methods and mechanical testing
- Experience with technical writing and standard procedures
- Basic understanding of device design and development
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Independent thinker with demonstrated skills working in teams or leading small project/initiatives/teams
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment
- Strong analytical skills to identify potential improvement opportunities
- Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities
- Pro-active and a self-motivated attitude
- Training and development opportunities will be provided for candidates who may not yet have experience in all areas
