What You Will Do

As Senior Manager Facilities & Engineering, you will lead the strategy, performance and future development of Amgen Breda's Facilities, Utilities and Engineering organization. You will ensure our critical infrastructure remains safe, reliable and compliant while shaping the long-term roadmap that enables future site growth, operational excellence and sustainability.

This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence. You will build a high-performing multidisciplinary engineering organization, strengthen internal capabilities and lead the evolution of our facilities and utilities infrastructure to support a growing GMP manufacturing site.

Working closely with the Site Leadership Team, Corporate Engineering, Procurement and strategic partners, you will translate business needs into engineering solutions that deliver long-term value for the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary Facilities & Engineering organization, including Engineering Managers, Maintenance Engineers, technical specialists, technicians and strategic service partners.
  • Define and execute the long-term Engineering, Facilities & Utilities strategy, ensuring our infrastructure supports future manufacturing growth, operational excellence and sustainability.
  • Own the reliability, compliance and performance of critical utilities and technical infrastructure supporting both GMP and non-GMP operations.
  • Develop long-term infrastructure, asset lifecycle and capacity plans aligned with the Site Master Plan and future business needs.
  • Provide engineering leadership and governance for capital engineering projects and major infrastructure investments.
  • Drive continuous improvement through reliability engineering, modern maintenance practices and digital innovation where it creates business value.
  • Lead the continued development of the Engineering organization, strengthening internal capabilities while optimizing strategic partnerships.
  • Build strong relationships with Site Leadership, Global Engineering, Procurement and key suppliers to align engineering priorities with business objectives.
  • Champion a culture of safety, compliance, ownership and continuous improvement.

What We Expect of You

We are looking for an inspiring engineering leader who combines strategic thinking with strong people leadership and the ability to translate long-term vision into practical results.

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or another relevant technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience within Engineering / Utilities in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and developing high-performing organizations.
  • Strong understanding of critical utilities, technical infrastructure, asset management and reliability principles.
  • Experience developing engineering strategies and translating business growth into infrastructure and investment roadmaps.
  • Experience with capital projects and working with external engineering partners and contractors.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior leadership level.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
