Medical Advisor Rare Diseases
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will provide state-of-the-art medical insight into the therapeutic area (TA) and/or specific molecules and serve as a single point of contact for Local and International teams in area of responsibility.
- Leading and developing the Local Medical strategy and Medical activities for the product(s) in accordance to internal and external regulations
- TA and/or product specific Medical training
- Ensuring consistency of Medical content and scientific messages across various tools and materials
- Works with Local evidence and generation lead to ensure preparation, implementation and completion of AST’s (Amgen sponsored studies)
- Participates in the development of International strategies and tactics in close collaboration with other areas
- Visits selected KOL’s and study groups for strategic discussions and protocol development
- Reviews Local ISS proposals prior to approval and ensures appropriate Local review prior to IPRC submission, if applicable
- Partners with the BU Manager in the development and execution of the Local product(s) lifecycle management plan
- Oversees in-sourced/outsourced Medical programs and logistics
- Participates in/conducts Local Advisory Board Meetings, Investigator Meetings and/or Expert Panels
- Provides Medical expertise for pipeline products, Health Economy and reimbursement requests
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree or medical education, or extensive scientific expertise in a relevant therapeutic area such as rare diseases, endocrinology, neurology, or epidemiology.
Or
Master’s degree and 3 years of medical education, or extensive scientific expertise in a relevant therapeutic area such as rare diseases, endocrinology, neurology, or epidemiology.
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of medical education, or extensive scientific expertise in a relevant therapeutic area such as rare diseases, endocrinology, neurology, or epidemiology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in any health-related area (RN, Pharm D, BSC, MD) with strong clinical research knowledge
- Epidemiology, Statistics, MsC specialization
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry, affiliate Medical Department, Clinical Development or proven industry collaboration in academia
- Fluency in English, both oral and written communications
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, business practices, product lifecycle and commercialization process with advanced understanding of other functions; including, but not limited to, Clinical Operations, Commercial, Regulatory, Therapeutic areas and Medical Affairs
- Network of customer contacts in therapeutic area
- Finance and budgeting experience
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team with strong customer orientation, excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills
