What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for all aspects of production cell line development in support of advancing the Amgen pre-clinical pipeline.

  • Develop and characterize manufacturing cell lines including transfection, selection, single cell cloning, passaging, screening and banking
  • Analyze and interpret data, maintain laboratory notebooks, and generate written reports
  • Generate relevant data towards authoring of regulatory submissions, publications, and patent applications
  • Communicate project updates, participate and present scientific data in meetings
  • Implement innovative technologies to improve expression, accelerate timelines, and improve efficiency
  • Work in a team environment, collaborating closely with colleagues in process development and Research

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma / GED and 6 years of scientific experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 4 scientific experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of scientific experience

Or

Master’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous hands-on experience in cell culture with a focus on recombinant protein production in CHO cells
  • Scientific understanding of cell line development, recombinant protein expression and cell line, vector, and gene editing technologies
  • Proficient in data analysis and scientific/technical reading/writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Attention to detail with good organizational skills
  • Good communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Additional experience in any of these areas is a plus: automation for use in high throughput cell culture, DNA cloning, and vector design

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
