Baltic Business Unit Manager based in Estonia

What you will do

The cross-functional Business Unit consists of professionals who passionately work in close collaboration with both external and internal stakeholders to serve patients in the Baltics. Amgen provides new medicines in the fields of heart disease, bone health, kidney disease, inflammation, solid tumors and blood disorders as well as in rare diseases that can have a major benefit for patients, their families and society.

In this vital role you will be leading and managing the assigned product portfolio (with focus on cardiology, osteology, nephrology, inflammation) in all three Baltic countries to ensure strong value growth. You will be responsible for delivering sales, market share & budget objectives by developing and executing a Baltic Business strategy in line with global/regional strategy and by partnering with the cross functional teams in the development and execution of brand strategies. Moreover, you will be responsible for all strategic and operational matters of BU (incl. marketing, sales, account management, pricing and contracting). By proactively engaging with internal global & regional network you will ensure strong strategic alignment and execution. To identify and leverage opportunities across Amgen Baltic product portfolio and effectively manage risk you will engage with key stakeholders to actively shape the external environment & maximize patient access/outcomes in the Baltics. You will also work and speak for Amgen in the Estonian market as part of the pharma association and cooperate with stakeholders to make outcomes better for patients.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure high accuracy in the financial forecasting process
  • Will be an active member of the Leadership team
  • Develop sales goals and budget, and execute them with the BU Team
  • Develop business cases to capitalize on growth opportunities outside of budgeted resources
  • Promote a customer & patient-centric way of working in the BU Team
  • Develop brand strategies for key growth driver and set clear KPIs for monitoring execution.
  • Develop effective communication strategy incl. digital marketing assets and engage with key customers
  • Actively support in the management of key accounts and relationship with therapy decision makers
  • Monitor execution of local Brand & Operating Plans
  • Ensure strong team prioritization and focus on high-value activities
  • Continuously develop individual & team capabilities to effectively meet internal and external requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. lead clinicians, patient advocacy groups, industry associations)
  • Represent Amgen at Estonian authorities, payers, and policy makers as well as the pharma industry

You will be joining our diverse Amgen Baltic Team, which is responsible for a broad portfolio with focus on  cardiology, osteology, nephrology and inflammation. As a central member of the cross-functional TA team and Baltic Management Team you will be able to actively shape both the future of Amgen Baltics and the Business Unit. In your role as Baltic Business Unit Manager you will lead a team of Customer Engagement & key account manager in all 3 Baltic countries and directly report to the Baltic Country Lead.

Minimum Requirements

  • Higher academic education (University degree) or experience from similar positions
  • >10 years of experience in industry
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing
  • Management experience of a relevant-sized team in the Baltic countries
  • Documented track record of success, incl. product launches
  • Fluency in Estonian and English language
  • Excellent Computer skills
  • Excellent presentation skills

Preferred Requirements

  • >5 years in a leading pharmaceutical/biotechnology company
  • >3 years of experience in the Baltic level
  • Expertise in Franchise area (e.g. Nephrology, Cardiology, Osteology, Inflammation etc.)
  • Previous track record as BU manager
