The Director Health Economics plays an important role in particular to health policy decision-makers in terms of marketing and positioning of our products. He is leading the local Health Economics Team and ensures competent and prudent composition of our product-specific value dossiers in cooperation with our Value, Access & Policy and Medical Teams. With the following responsibilities the position holder supports the reimbursement of our products and their market access:


  • Leading and coaching the local Health Economics Team with well-defined development plans for the team members
  • Responsibility for creating AMNOG-Dossiers/Health Technology Assessment (HTA​​) and their integration into the local business strategies in line with global strategy and in collaboration and alignment with global teams
  • Development and local adaptation of product-specific “value propositions”
  • Design and implementation of observational studies and database analyses in the context of profound health services research projects, also in collaboration with payers
  • Development and roll out of Social Impact Studies supporting Amgen’s indication and product strategies
  • Development and implementation of local Health Economics / HTA communications and publication strategies in alignment with our Global plans
  • Active participation in local HEOR/HTA workshops and symposia with experts and industry bodies and committees in the public health sector (in cooperation with IQWiG)
  • Representation of the economic and clinical benefits of our products to decision-makers
  • Expansion of the opinion leader network in health policy environment
  • Local adaptation of health economic models
  • Active collaboration with global health economics colleagues and working groups
  • Is providing direction to and collaborates with external consulting firms in the field of HEOR
  • Contact for product teams to all questions regarding Health Economics, “value propositions” and reimbursement issues
  • Creation and implementation of internal training programs in the field of health economics


  • University degree, ideally in health economics or medicine / natural sciences with demonstrated profound additional qualification in health economics
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry, within the national health insurance or health economic consulting firms, ideally in a matrixed environment
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in leading a team
  • Experience in the execution of AMNOG Processes is strongly preferred
  • Ideally in possession of a strong customer network within the HEOR area
  • Competent knowledge of health economic modeling methodology, design and implementation of cost-effectiveness studies and cost studies of disease
  • Skills and ideally experience in the methods of preparation of systematic literature reviews
  • Competent knowledge of the methods of Outcomes Research and local health care reimbursement law/policies
  • Analytical thinking, secure property assessment of economic and health policy environment and a sense of the resulting developments and market opportunities
  • Very good and confident manner, standing, communication and presentation skills as well as negotiation skills and decision-making skills, influencing skills and results orientation
  • Very good command of spoken and written German and English
  • Competent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, knowledge of modeling software (for example TreeAge) is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel
