Amgen is seeking a Specialist Information Systems (IS) Programming Analyst – ServiceNow within the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) Platforms team. The Specialist will report to the Senior Manager IS – ESM Platforms – ServiceNow and will work out of Amgen’s Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. This Specialist IS Programming Analyst – ServiceNow will collaborate with business stakeholders, project and operational support teams to provide application design and development support. The Incumbent will lead and / or participate in proof of concepts and feasibility analysis workshops to architect and design solutions using the ServiceNow platform in addition to deploying new capabilities and enhancements to the platform.

The ESM – Platforms team focuses on managing all aspects of Amgen’s key service management system ServiceNow. Responsibilities range from break-fix (KTLO) “keep the lights on” support for this platform all the way to strategic road mapping and architecture with our key SaaS provider ServiceNow on our many modules (ITSM, PPS, ITFM, Performance Analytics, etc.) which drive and underpin key service management processes at Amgen. The ESM – Platforms Team closely cooperates with other teams such as Global Business Services (GBS) Technology, IS Service Owners, Quality, and strategic external partners.

Key Activities for the Specialist include:
Provides ownership and guidance for system architecture, design and unit testing, and performing design and code reviews, including managing the artifacts therein
Standardizes and leads the implementation of improvements in documented technical practices and procedures for the platform
Partners with Managed Service Providers for feasibility analysis and project delivery
Estimates design and development activities, including collecting and reviewing developer estimates
Organizes and schedules development tasks, creating realistic plans incorporating time constraints and task priorities
Translates business requirements into technical requirements and design
Participates in change or architecture review boards in reviewing proposed changes or solutions
Creates and executes Installation Tests for platform upgrades and rebuilds
Leads and provides design and development of, but not limited to: screen tailoring, workflow administration, portal design, application & data integration, custom scripting
Answers “how to” technical and application configuration questions
Assists in troubleshooting, patch / release management issues, and environment performance
10% domestic travel can be expected

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience with ServiceNow or proven ServiceNow implementation or development experience
2+ years’ experience working in a highly agile (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) environment
Experience in all aspects of SDLC from requirements, design, and testing to support
Experience with ITIL and Service Management
Experience working cross-functionally and building collaborative working relationships; interfacing effectively with stakeholders, operations and management to resolve issues
Able to organize and schedule tasks, develop realistic action plans incorporating time constraints and task priorities
Strong presentation skills, interpersonal skills, verbal and written communications skills
Self-motivation, exemplifying a positive can-do attitude and willingness to learn
Forward thinking, assertive, and ability to focus on finding and developing unique opportunities to create value by enabling and engaging in creative dialogue with various key stakeholders
Demonstrates technical mastery in business, data, and problem analysis
