The IS Architect plays an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the company’s information technology strategy and processes. The IS Architect partners with both business and technology groups to ensure that the proposed technical solutions align with the company’s overall objectives, and that both groups enable and drive each other to meet the company’s mission and vision.

Key Activities for a Specialist IS Architect include:

Enterprise Platforms Solution Architecture
Deliver and continuously improve the Solution Architecture service while driving change across the IS function with the continued engagement of key stakeholders and opinion leaders.
Leads the design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of projects
Circulates roadmaps to align IS priorities with business partner needs
Robotic Process Automation
Partner with automation architect Lead Solution Design, Service Delivery and end-to-end oversight for all Robotics Process Automation projects for 2-3 named business functions.
Govern all RPA Build and Run engagements with IT, Business stakeholders, and Vendor Leads
Build and Mentor team of RPA technologists, and groom them to evolve as technical-functional SMEs
Lead initiative to build re-useable scripts, assets and artefacts that can be used across RPA projects, and can be leveraged with least effort to other RPA tools (inter-operability)
Service Delivery Management
Close Collaboration with Managed Service Provider to ensure operations is running smoothly
Partner with Service Owner and Regional Business Analyst for ongoing improvement and implementation of contracts and pricing platform support processes internationally
Work closely with Client facing teams to ensure alignment with business road map and how technology road map can be evolved
Business Analysis
Interact with business users, SaaS providers & partners to understand & document business requirements, data integration flows, security or compliance requirement.
Defines approaches to ensure data quality, and automate data validation process
Innovation & POC
Optimize existing RUN operations by building web/mobile applications
Partner with AID/GCPS RUN lead to optimize RUN operations
Hands on development experience for web/mobile and COTS products that deliver enterprise outcomes
Drive projects based on agile principles, collaborating with application development teams on design, development & test of integration solutions across diverse applications.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree
Master’s degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Cloud and Data Integration, within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
Industry Certification or experience with one of leading cloud providers such as AWS, Azure or Google
Experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering or System Administration with automation focus
Demonstrated development experience in one or more of the following programming languages
C#/.NET, Java, Python, Golang, Javascript
Experience with software development practices – Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Source Code Management etc.
Automation experience using Chef/Puppet, Ansible, Shell Scripting in Windows or Linux environments
Familiarity with tools such as Git, TFS, Jenkins etc. As well as, object oriented design, web development frameworks or software design patterns
2 or more years of experience working with software systems validation, SOX, Information Privacy, FDA cGxP and 21 CFR Part 11regulations
Experience with Application Integrations using SOA/ESB/Web Services or EDI
Understanding or experience of Cloud Integration
Familiarity with SaaS, iPaaS/PaaS & IaaS based Application delivery models
Experience with HTTP, JSON, XML, REST principles, with application of it in one or more programming language
Strong understanding of networking protocols & applications (TCP/IP, load balancing, firewalls etc.)
Understanding of authentication protocols, & internet security standards
Experience with analysis of data, file structures, format transformations, data mapping & protocol mediation
Strong attention to detail and be self-directed
Ability to drive consensus among stake holders, partners & vendors
Experience working in an FDA regulated environment
Strong Service Delivery mindset with demonstrated Logistics functional domain experience
Strong leadership/consultative, collaboration, project management, service delivery and process improvement skills to facilitate alignment across multiple global geographies
Ability to leverage his/her experience in delivering and supporting global information systems in a regulated environment for a diverse and distributed user base while relying on a number of Enterprise shared services
Effective internal & external relationships and operating across functional boundaries
Ability to translate strategic opportunities and emerging technology solutions into tangible pragmatic executable plans
Ability to “think big” and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology refresh and hype
Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and understanding of the Project Management lifecycle
Demonstrated ability to build consensus among many stakeholders
Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to take principled bets on new technology
Ability to establish, implement, and enforce appropriate IS standards to meet business requirements
